When I use ConnectWise on my Mac in Safari to download a receipt, it opens a new tab, downloads the receipt, and opens it in Preview. It used to immediately close the tab, which was very helpful because I have to download many, many receipts (to check them) and I don't want to close a tab every time I download a receipt. When I sign in as a guest user, it will auto close the tab as it should for a while, but then it begins leaving the tab open. When I turn Javascript off in Safari, it won't download the receipt, so I know it is Javascript in Connectwise that is doing all this.
It isn't just Connectwise that has this phenomenon. This happens on other sites as well (opening a tab when clicking on a download, but not auto-closing the tab).
Is there some way I can modify the javascript in Safari to force it to auto-close any auto-opened tabs? I've been using the Mac for a long time, but I know very little about Javascript. I realize this is a disgusting newbie question, but this is creating a lot of extra work for me and I'd love to be able to solve it. Thank you.
